Just a thought - why not try the asio4all driver just to see if it makes a difference? The install goes well but no output sound. If I could afford one I'd be ordering it tonight.

Saturday, June 6, Beyond this, my Alesis Multi-mix 8 Firewire is gathering dust and Xlesis really not happy about it. There is a similar image to your first one in your last but one message that shows no sample rate and the unlocked warning icons. It contains three files: Log in or Sign up.
I still want to move into the Firewire world, in 64 bit since I bought the new computer, to access more than 3 gigs of RAM, I have 6, and more than the 2 channel USB limit. I managed to get the multimix firewire mixer to work with windows 8. Please update your driver from the link to suppot it on Windows 7. Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire; now Discontinued? What did Ffirewire miss. I guess ill still be using my old laptop for sound and then sending it over to my new machine.

Alesis multimix asio drivers
Alesis tech support is supposed to be getting back windowz me with a solution, but it could be next week now before I hear anything, I got an email from the last night saying a tech would contact me in 24 to 72 hours not counting weekends and of course this is one of those really long weekends. An out of the box Windows installation should be fine.
For anyone thinking of buying this mixer for use on a windows 7 64 bit set up, the simple answer is don't.

The only solution is to try to find my old installation CD for Vista, partition my disk for dual boot, try to get the thing activated, etc. I got a call in to them at the moment i will post anthing i can find to help u out.
